This is a great news for Indians and Indian community everywhere!
If you believe Times of India, 19th December 2016, the Indian economy has left behind United Kingdom in terms of size after 150 years. This is attributable to the economic growth which India has started gaining in the last 25 years, as well as the declining value of Pound since last 12 months.
In December 2011, the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) predicted that India would become the “fifth largest by 2020” but India has crossed this significant milestone much sooner.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju while celebrating India’s landmark, said, “India overtakes UK & becomes 5th largest GDP after USA, China, Japan & Germany.”
